Nylon belongs to aliphatic Polyester DTY and is the main synthetic fiber next to polyester. Nylon has good performance, high output and wide application. Nylon is resistant to corrosion, mildew and insect. Nylon filament is mainly nylon high-strength filament, and there is a small amount of nylon short fiber. Nylon high-strength filament is mainly used to manufacture high-strength filament, which is used to produce socks, underwear, sports shirts, etc. Nylon high-strength filament can also be used in webbing: high-grade luggage belt, mountaineering belt, rope belt for sports goods, safety belt, pet belt, high-grade medical abdominal belt, etc. Nylon staple fiber is mainly blended with viscose fiber, cotton, wool and other synthetic fibers and used as clothing fabric.

Nylon filament has the characteristics of high strength and low elongation, and has a tendency to replace Nylon Double 6. Its stability and physical indexes have reached the standard. Nylon fabric is a variety of fabrics made from nylon silk, such as nylon taffeta and nylon crepe.

Because it is made of nylon filament, it has the characteristics of smooth feel, firmness and durability, and moderate price. It also has the disadvantages of easy wrinkle and hard recovery. Nylon taffeta is mainly used for light clothing, down jacket or raincoat cloth, while nylon crepe is suitable for summer dresses, spring and autumn sweaters, etc.

The difference between polyester fiber and nylon fiber lies in:

1. With different specific gravity, the polyester silk fabric is not easy to wrinkle, and is upright, with good dimensional stability and good shape retention. However, the shape keeping property of nylon fiber is not good, and it is not as straight as polyester fiber, and it is easy to deform.

2. The melting point of polyester fiber is 260 ℃, and the ironing temperature can be 180 ℃. The heat resistance of nylon filament is not good enough and the ironing temperature should be controlled below 140 ℃,

3. Nylon fiber has good low temperature resistance, good elastic recovery, excellent wear resistance, and better moisture absorption and dyeing properties than polyester fiber.

4. Polyester yarn is resistant to sunlight, acid but not alkali, and nylon yarn is resistant to alkali but not acid, and has poor light resistance. The fiber strength will decrease and the color will turn yellow after long-term exposure to sunlight. The nylon silk fabric has a smooth hand feel and a high surface gloss. It is made of sportswear, swimwear, bodybuilding clothes and socks.
